The hiding issue is the massive acceleration of the dividing effect of algorithmic feeds that tend to radicalize people in the middle to the extremes. This is primarily courtesy of #SurveillanceCapitalism and not necessarily human nature. Prior generations' media tended toward the center, now it pushes us to the extremes.
