@dr_jdean @NYTimes I've tried both the extension and the bookmarklet with no luck. It seems I'm having problems selecting text to annotate.

Typically in Firefox (a fresh install), when attempting to select text to highlight/annotate, the Times either won't let me, or it thinks I'm attempting to "swipe" and opens the next article instead.

Within Chrome, I simply can't highlight at all as the page won't let me select text. It also has a similar behavior in sometimes thinking that I'm trying to swipe to the next page/article.

Could it be, in part, that I'm using a touch-screen laptop?

I've tried disabling all of my other Chrome browser extensions, but that doesn't seem to be causing problems/conflicts. I don't have any problems with highlighting/annotating on any other sites, it just seems to be the NYTimes that has this issue.
