@c Who you talking to?

@jeremycherfas Joe Gregorio who's gotten Webmentions working. Though apparently there's some context collapse in my syndication.

@jeremycherfas I suspect if you clicked on the permalink time of the post, you'd see the original which contains some, but not all of the context. I'll have to think about how this could be better so that when viewed elsewhere, it all makes sense. I've been playing around with doing replies from outside m.b. and Known doesn't seem to play as well as I'd like.

@c I've had some similar niggles with Known. It is odd that what seems obviously like a reply stands alone when I view the Conversation here at m.b So many moving parts …

I suspect that next, with a tad bit of parsing using microformats, you can add some display elements to your webmentions to indicate the author, their url, date/time, and actually include the reply text to have a better UI for them. Then they'll look a bit more like the traditional comments you may have envisioned. (Something along the lines seen in my comments at http://stream.boffosocko.com/2018/if-youve-got-incoming-webmentions-working-let-me-have-the). There's help to be had in the chat as surely someone has documented this somewhere before and you probably won't have to build from scratch unless you really want to.
