@mollyjfarrell Excellent story & history! Surely John Tennent's pamphlet had appeared previous to 1734, as there's a copy labeled as the 3rd edition which Benjamin Franklin himself had reprinted that year?

Thanks, I'd seen a 1734 date for another printing, but didn't find one for the first and suspected you'd have it. The fact that Franklin published this edition 14 years before The American Instructor underlines its continued value as he was a savvy printer.

Yes absolutely! It fascinates me that he kept this around and then drew on it over a decade later when he decided to reprint the Fisher to make it "American"

Thanks for finding and circulating this copy! I'm seeing 1734 listed in Evans for the Williamsburg and Annapolis printings; editions can be in the same year.
