@wanda_lotus IndieAuth (which uses the rel="me") needs to support the providers, which typically have a version of oAuth, so things like Twitter, GitHub, and Google will work. I'm pretty sure LiveJournal and Dreamwidth don't support it, and so they won't work.

I'm not seeing the HTML export on the desktop version of Kindle (from 2015) on my work laptop at the moment, but I'm positive it's hiding somewhere on my desktop machine, which is currently out of commission for some quirky problems. When I get it running, I'll try to document the feature as I don't think I've seen it mentioned anywhere else and it was tremendously easy and helpful.

I hadn't tried Bookcision as I'd stumbled across what I supposed was an easy answer, but there are a few edge cases for non-Amazon books in my collection that might benefit from using it as Amazon doesn't always play well with content that doesn't originate from the "mothership".

A while back, I'd bookmarked http://the-digital-reader.com/2015/02/21/how-to-download-your-kindle-notes-and-highlights-and-export-them/ as one of the better articles explaining most of the pathways currently available. If I remember the comments were relatively helpful as well.

For general file conversion you might appreciate Pandoc: http://pandoc.org/

There are also some in the community who have tools (like Kevin Marks' http://www.unmung.com/ ) which can do inter-conversion. I can't recall specifics at the moment, but someone in the chat will likely know of the others, or you can search github to find some of the opensource ones https://github.com/search?q=indieweb&ref=opensearch (it can be an interesting browse in general for things you didn't know you needed/wanted).

Finally, I liked the teleprompter.css hint for marked2, but if you've not come across it, I often read newspaper, magazine articles, and fiction on my mobile using RSVP-related technology (Rapid Serial Visual Presentation) which has been patented (though I'm not so sure it's enforcable) by http://spritzinc.com/get-spritz and for which there are multiple apps floating around for multiple platforms. My favorite thus far is Balto-reader which I think may only be available in the Amazon store, but it's one of the few I've found that can break through Amazon's encryption to allow using Spritz-like technology on my Kindle Fire or Android Phones. I don't recommend using it to read technical documents or passages which require more thought, but it's lovely on mobile and has a nice bookmarklet for reading web-based articles quickly. If it's something you think you'd use, but you can't find something that can access Amazon books, let me know and I can suggest some workarounds that will allow Amazon book access.

JetPack has shortcode support for recipes that adds some markup (schema if I remember). I'm not a huge fan of shortcodes, but I've been meaning to finish tweaking their code to add microformats markup too. https://en.support.wordpress.com/recipes/

Retrieve Running Time for listen and watch post kinds? · Issue #71 · dshanske/indieweb-post-kinds https://github.com/dshanske/indieweb-post-kinds/issues/71

For sites like Soundcloud, ITunes, Netflix, youtube (if it's available) it would be nice to retrieve the "running time" of the music, show, film, etc. to display as a running time in the UI for listen, watch, and jam types (rather than the published/updated) for other post types.

When not scrape-able, allowing one to simply enter a 0:00:00 time and a finish time and letting it display the appropriate running time (without entering a date) would be useful for these types as well. (I'm presuming it requires dates to calculate currently as I haven't yet checked....)

Why doesn't Digg find additional alternate feed links on my site and present them as subscribe-able?

On a web page, one could advertise multiple RSS feeds for potential subscription (http://www.rssboard.org/rss-autodiscovery), yet it doesn't look like Digg supports this ability.

So for example, on my site http://www.boffosocko.com, I have about 12 alternate feeds which provide different subsections of my content that is subscribe-able based on the needs/interests of the reader. Why doesn't Digg parse this data to allow their readers the choice of what to read? Simple feed readers like Woodwind.xyz allow for this (see github opensource repository for example: https://github.com/kylewm/woodwind). Photo of the functionality attached.

Scott, I agree with you that it could do a better job of providing context as it gives almost none at all. Occasionally I'll cut and paste something more descriptive, but that's just a stopgap. I've noted similar things in the past: https://github.com/kylewm/KnownReactions/issues/14

A possibly better version might be a mashup of Known's "Share" funcitonality, but with the proper markup for likes and reposts, but this would take a bit of reconfiguration which I haven't had the itch to fix just yet. My general value on likes and reposts like these is fairly low and if I want to keep more context I use other methods, particularly if I want to keep more context for my personal site search in the future.

In particular, for things like these, I'm a big fan of having the actual blockquote of tweets using their javascript for display, that way if Twitter were to fail one day, I'll still have the physical content even if I loose the display portion.

@TechLifeWeb Perhaps @dshanske or @schnarfed have? I have one half-hacked custom post type, but have never tested webmentions since it doesn't display on the front end. You could also try in IRC or post the question in the github repo with webmentions for suggestions.

Suggestion: Store GPS coordinates in the recommended WordPress format/standard · Issue #29 · jtsternberg/DsgnWrks-Instagram-Importer https://github.com/jtsternberg/DsgnWrks-Instagram-Importer/issues/29

It would be nice if the plugin stored the GPS coordinates with the standard/suggested WordPress standard:
https://codex.wordpress.org/Geodata

This would allow the usage of secondary plugins (like [Simple Location](https://wordpress.org/plugins/simple-location/)) to access the stored data and do something with it.

"Source" title and URL repeated within post · Issue #892 · PressForward/pressforward https://github.com/PressForward/pressforward/issues/892

Using the bookmarklet whether using "nomination" or "draft" the source of the saved story is put into the_content twice, once with a URL linked title and a second time immediately following, but with the plain text "Source:" prepended.

Is it possible that Mercury is adding one and the javascript in the bookmarklet is adding the other thereby causing the duplication?

New update causes tab issues with All in One SEO Pack · Issue #70 · TweetPressFr/jm-twitter-cards https://github.com/TweetPressFr/jm-twitter-cards/issues/70

With the recent update to stable on WordPress.org 5 hours ago (v7.7) a change somewhere in the code is causing problems in the admin interface with the All in One SEO Pack.

In particular one can't switch between the two tabs in AIOSP interface "Main Settings" and "Social Settings". Only the details on the "Main Settings" tab can be seen and attempting to switch to "Social Settings" only changes the url (which then ends with <code>&action=edit#aioseop_opengraph_settings</code>. Attempting to switch back does nothing but change the URL to <code>&action=edit#aiosp</code>.

Disabling JM Twitter Cards and refreshing the post admin interface allows AIOSP to work properly and reenabling JMTC causes it to break again.

Thoughts?

Also cross-posting to JMTC which may be the source of the problem.
