The community smartly doesn't rely on email, but if you insist, you can subscribe to This Week in the IndieWeb, a weekly digest of recent and upcoming events, posts from IndieNews, and a summary of wiki edits, sent out every Friday afternoon.

For all my and @JohnsHopkins friends:
I highly recommend attending @IndieWebCamp Jan 20-21

YouTube URL embeds not working · Issue #1 · dshanske/twentysixteen-indieweb https://github.com/dshanske/twentysixteen-indieweb/issues/1

In archive views (/kind/post_kind/) and individual pages, typical raw YouTube URLs in pages that previously converted them into embeds via WordPress now just display them as text (non-clickable) URLs.

This may also extend to other types of WordPress embeds as well.

Want to know what it feels like to see what the web will become tomorrow?

Some of the smartest (and kindest) people I know will be meeting in on Dec 9&10 to help make the internet a better place one website at a time.

I hope you can join them: https://2017.indieweb.org/austin

Between @BeakerBrowser and @IndieWebCamp, it looks like Austin is the place to be in December:

A whole new level of ? ?!
To Save Net Neutrality, We Must Build Our Own Internet https://motherboard.vice.com/en_us/article/7x4y8a/net-neutrality-fcc-community-networks

This looks like an interesting experiment. Curious to see how something like this might be implemented in a social feed reader. https://twitter.com/EthanZ/status/931230918274179073?s=09

The more I think about archiving the web this week, the more value and stability I think that the W3C's Webmentions spec could be adding to the internet and copies of it.

For citations, @Regina2SU, you could use the W3C's Webmention protocol for sending/receiving notifications
